November Marketing Tips, Tools & Resources for Small Business Owners

Greetings, marketing fans and small business owners ~

Month eleven is here and the holiday season has officially begun! Celebrate November by creating marketing campaigns around clever "alternative shopping days", offering brilliant opportunities for indie retailers, business owners & artists.

While we may be just weeks away from some of the biggest retail days, it doesn't mean overlooking the pace and vibes of November. The theme of this month is often centered around gratitude, acknowledged with hashtags, photo contests and daily social media posts, while fall road trips to see the leaves, autumn festivals and the transition of the seasons provides family-friendly weekend activities. Work timely reminders into your online content while setting aside time to plan content for the busier weeks ahead, update images to seasonal colors and share useful information for your clients and customers. Here I've included a couple of reminders suitable for November ~

Remember, winter doesn't officially begin until December 21st, so there's plenty of time to savor the fall days and not rush the holidays too much. For retailers and marketers however, the planning and content creation is in full swing with a host of upcoming dates to bring into your social content, promotional offers and events.

In my next blog post I'll run down the dates shown in the graphic below, and include resources and marketing materials which are available for your promotions. Did you know that there are some amazing sites out there which offer tons of inspiration, tips and ideas for independent businesses? No need to feel like you're on your own with organizations such as AMIBA, Independent We Stand, Shop Indie Local, American Booksellers Association and more! Back when I was in retail these materials sure would have come in handy with mapping out seasonal strategies, so I definitely want you to know where to look!

Keep an eye out for my next post which will give an overview of these holidays. This is an important time of the year for small business owners and nonprofit organizations as well - anyone who is willing to work hard can really benefit from ramping up your brand visibility and providing good content!
