I posted this around March 29th, as we celebrated National Mom & Pop Business Owner Day. It's always an important observance for me, as I am deeply passionate about both supporting and working with independently-owned businesses, and recently it's been occurring to me how much more challenging this journey can be.
As we reflect on all the ways small business owners benefit our lives and build communities, I wanted to leave you with a reminder to give yourself the gifts of understanding and patience during the journey.

Business ownership is a tough gig; it is not for the faint of heart or the unmotivated, because setbacks and distractions can and do occur frequently. Unless one is forgiving to such circumstances, ready to pivot and adapt, make changes and improve when needed, life can become a tough climb, especially if we allow the twists and turns to shake our determination.
Enjoy the ride! Embrace the ups and downs, highs and lows, because all of it - the good and the challenges - will one day become part of your story and success.
Sincerely,
