51 Reflections on Business, Marketing and Life

Welcome! This is a collection I've put together to help refresh your mind and recharge your marketing strategy. As a fan of keeping things short, sweet and simple, I've found that folks are generally more apt to read a brief sentence offering a fresh perspective, rather than a six minute blog read, so these simple reminders are meant to inspire, offer some new ideas, and fuel your creative side. I hope you enjoy!

• Marketing is not talking "at" people, it is listening, paying attention, and understanding what the consumer needs.

• Find the value in each experience you have, because it is only when you learn that you grow.

• A brand is not the business name. It is passion + people + process.

• Nothing kills off big dreams and exciting possibilities quite as effectively as the fear of change.

• Don't hire someone to reinvent you. Hire someone to tell your story well.

• Know. Your. Direction. Don't know it? Set a goal of identifying your niche or strength.

• Sitting still and hoping for improvement is not a strategy.

• Progress isn't made in a single giant leap.

• It's okay to have "off" days because they'll remind you what matters.

• What goes online stays online.

• Learning to listen may be one of the greatest skills. Find out how to sit quietly and absorb what others have to offer.

There is an art to the process of "Telling your Story".

• Be prepared to take many small steps.

• Descriptive words and relevant images write compelling stories.

• Include everyone on the team.

• Always be seeking, harvesting and analyzing the data you collect.

• You. Need. A. Marketing. Strategy. Seriously...you can't grow if you don't work at it.

• Beware of those who seek to rush connections, relationships, collaboration. Good things take time.

• It's okay to adjust and change your perceptions.

• Branding is conversations and connections that matter.

• Grand promises of instant success rarely pay off.

• Notice that the wisest ones are often those who say the least.

• Online Marketing Tip #1: don't have popups that cover my screen.

• Not every post is income-generating. They aren't meant to be, and that's okay.

• Practice consistent kindness, to employees; peers; guests.

• You already have what your customers need - they just don’t know it yet.

• Far too often we fail to hear what others are saying.

• Building your brand is a daily commitment.

• Your website and social channels aren't going to succeed without great content.

• Know that there is more to life than making a profit.

• Be selective. (in everything)

• Quality relationships aren't built overnight.

• Learning to articulate your experiences offers a personal side to business.

• Open minds lead to awesome opportunities.

• Define what makes your brand stand apart from the rest.

• Educate. Enlighten. Entertain.

• Get your nonprofit, cause or community organization online today, because if you aren't doing so, someone else is.

• Look honestly. Evaluate fairly. Keep an open mind.

• Asking the opinion of those who are quiet often brings out the best in people.

•Nothing worth having is easy. (there are no shortcuts)

• Practice this power move: begin your day with a clear mindset.

• Consistency. Accuracy. Simplicity.

• Some people "listen" but fail to "hear". Don't be one of them.

• Meaningful connections = create incredible partnerships.

• Be flexible enough to adjust your course as needed.

• Insecurity is loud; confidence is quiet.

• Eagerness to improve should be one of the essential components of your journey.

⁣• Knowledge = growth.

• Be a realist and accept there will be failures in life.

• Extract the wisdom from every single situation.

• How you navigate the road doesn't define success. The twists and turns you'll take while blazing your own trail to the finish line are what counts.

I hope you found some inspiration to motivate and energize your journey! Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day, friends.

Sincerely,
