There are so many clever holidays and unique marketing opportunities coming up in November - consider partnering with nearby businesses to promote local shopping in your downtown or main street area. Create special events, host an open house or surprise your customers with a raffle or door prizes on certain dates. Whatever you decide to do, plan ahead and have fun with your promotions!
What if we asked ourselves; "Can I find this locally?", before heading to a big box store or ordering online? Maybe this is the year to find out just how much we have right in our own towns and neighborhoods. #shopsmallde #bridgeville

We love our community and it's independent businesses, locally-grown food options and all the things which are handmade and produced right here on Delmarva. Gifts for the office last year turned from Starbucks gifts cards into incredible pies made right on a farm near us in southern Delaware - and were a huge hit! For the remainder of 2021, maybe we would find greater joy in doing business with real people, and just maybe learn that it's okay to buy less but better. Instead of more plastic "stuff" for the kids, why not invest in a really great set of wooden blocks that will last until they can pass them onto their kids? A memorable piece of jewelry for a sister or mom that would become a beloved heirloom could become a new tradition, and visiting a local farm or market might be a fun afternoon for the entire family. Maybe this whole "cargo ship backup" is really a blessing in disguise - giving us the chance to let go of the idea that more is better. Try it this holiday season and see for yourself!
