"How to celebrate Swap Ideas Day ~ If you get an idea, write it down before you forget it. If the idea is something beyond your power to create it, find someone who can. Make a list of those who you feel you can trust with your idea and break them down in to categories where they might be of the most use." source

Swapping ideas today does not have to be done on a one-on-one basis. It would be fun for a group of people to get together and share ideas. People could share their thoughts and concepts and also learn from each other, while gathered in a social grouping.
Groups of people benefit from the skills of others, and the energy of brainstorming compounds the efforts of the entire team. Often an idea shared by one person generates two or even three new concepts within the group creating opportunities for everyone. source
